KA Leisure - Garnock Pool 40th Birthday
GVFM helped celebrate the Garnock Pool's 40th Birthday in August. During the fun day we had a 3km fun run, tug of war and some prize-winning dancing!
The day at the centre in Kilbirnie included basketball, inflatable rides, suf-board challenges, ice-cream and even some Wii competitions. The event was blessed with sunshine right through to the end, which left a couple of presenters with an unexpected tan.. or some burnt bits!

Celebrating 40 years of the Garnock Pool with a presentation of a cake and medal to 'Big Davie' who has been with the centre for almost all of the pool's history!
The cake!

Our friend Dunno the Clown... however, we know who our money would be on!

This is the 'forget-about-the-padded-stick-and-just-lunge-method'

Working hard... or thinking about the ice-cream stall?

Norie being told he can't play the Cheeky Girls for the third time...

The Garnock Pool was the first pool in Ayrshire, and also the first to have lifeguards by the poolside. A pioneer in Ayrshire, and popular centre across the Valley. Happy Birthday!
(We'll have more pictures soon at our new photo gallery!)
